Photosynthesis will not be thwarted

After the devastation of the flood, the Friends' Field garden is back in production! Yesterday marked our first harvest for for Dig In!'s free farmers' market (Harvest Share) in Burnsville -- as well as the completion of our last flood-related rebuilding effort (the new netting arbor over the blueberries that Miles Dreyer and I planted many years ago).  Although we lost much of our topsoil in the western (lower) half of the garden, the top section was gifted by the flood with what has proved to be, with much addition of manure and muscle, sandy (but apparently very fertile) soil.  Here are some images from our first harvest.   Thank you all for your support and kind words as we recreated the garden; and thank you to Dig In! for their financial support as we invested in new fencing.
